I strongly believe in the manifestation of a being, given the opportunity to fully take in as much knowledge and teachings from observation. Fashion design is where I’ve learnt that the idea of experimentation is focal to the pursuit of success, risk taking in every step of the process of creation of a beautiful byproduct. This is what I have absorbed and achieved at Manchester Fashion institute.
At ManMet I have worked on carefully designed projects that have instilled a strong sense of professionalism in me. The collation of my collection represents my strong desire to uplift my culture as well as gain awareness of the artisans whose art seems to be depleting with the rise of fast fashion.
The concept behind the project is the breakdown of barriers of purpose and promote reflection on current consumption, the way of life and to appreciate tangible and intangible objects as you have newer experiences. I want to uphold the idea of understanding the uplifting of culture, heritage and focus on the origins of product. The Mughal empires started influencing Indian architecture from the mid-16th to the late 17th century. The Mughal period marked a striking revival of Islamic architecture in northern India. The collection is a modern fusion of Mughal architectural structures amalgamated with modern and experimental silhouettes.
