As a young menswear designer from Greater Manchester my work has always focused on elements that speak for the culture of North West England alongside those that encompass everyday life. From music and subcultures to domestic surroundings and family relationships, my research has always been heavily narrative based, creating characters and drawing inspiration from everything that surrounds them. Using narrative and characters this way also introduces a sense of attitude to my work as well as visuals and helps me recognise the type of guy I am designing for through something more than just aesthetics. I strive to endeavour a sense of youthful fun and tongue in cheek approach through simple classic sportswear as well as other garment archives that lend a hand to my research.
