My graduate collection, ‘A Lone Diasporic Identity’ was a testament to being oneself. Drawing inspiration from my own diasporic experience, the collection explores menswear and the notions of fitting in. With references to prep school boys and school sports juxtaposed against my Nepalese culture, heritage and influence, the collection imbues a sense of longing to be one thing, but not to stray too far from the comfortable and the usual.

A focus on visual communication helped me form an individual and personal design identity. While strong technical skills allowed me to communicate my ideas clearly from design to a three-dimensional product. My final collection also incorporates sustainability with a focus on careful and considered approaches to fabrication and design. This includes sourcing ethical and sustainable fabric and utilising knit as a sustainable process of garment manufacture.
