CLUB RUN
Luxury performance womenswear combining contouring fetishes with contemporary and classic sportswear influences for an assertive, sensual and unapologetic feeling.
The main theme for my work explores the idea of 'the racer' character. It takes influences from speed focused sports such as cycling, motorcross, and sportscar design; as well as nightout/club culture. I wanted a concept that consisted of a group of people, all their own unique character, but still following the racer theme. I wanted it to feel as if they were coming back from their night out - literally running back home, and incorporate the feelings and actions that derive from it. My woman is confident and unapologetic, hard yet vulnerable. I wanted to capture how garments can become distressed and distorted through the actions of the night out (falling of the body, tears in garments), and from this to fetishise the womans body. It is about 'reveal and unreveal'; to give my collection that sensual element, and consider which parts the of body were visible.
