b2b zine is a publication full of creatives from all over the UK, with different backgrounds, ages and occupations, but all with the same passion for the underground music scene. This project has explored different aspects of the scene and all the people who make it into a community. b2b addresses political and social issues regarding the scene, that myself as well as others in the community believe need light shed on. The first issue focuses on the topic of escapism and self-expression. I have delved into finding out what escapism means to different people and what it is that makes them feel this way, exploring everything from what we feel, what we see and the clothes we choose to dress our bodies. It is truly heart-warming to know events like these can bring such comfort to everyone on the dance floor. I wanted this issue to be kept as authentic and honest as possible, getting many people involved and focusing on the people behind the parties, the ones to watch, the people behind the lens and the dancers who attend these events every single weekend. In a world where we are made to feel as though being different is not always accepted, this community provides so many with a space to forget, where we are encouraged to express our individuality and leave our worries at the door. I hope this zine can offer the same.
