I am a luxury womenswear designer with an aptitude for textiles. My collection includes three main areas of textile processes, knitting, block printing and hand marbling. My collection is inspired by the Medici family of Florence during the Renaissence, and I carried out all my primary research there. I surrounded myself with their family portraits, the buildings they lived in, the gardens they walked through and even the artwork they commisioned. This research led me to the marbling technique and to block printing, which I was then fortunate enough to further explore on a block printing trip to Bangalore, arranged through the university. I always design with a consideration towards sustainability, especially through fully fashioned knit and materiality.
