Erin Williams

BA (Hons) Fashion Art Direction 2020

I specialize in photography and videography, using the human form to express emotion that allow garments and image composition to explain my message. My aesthetic is eclectic, using humour to portray serious autobiographical topics. For example, looking at current social issues that make people feel uncomfortable or reflect opinions from my generation and older. Self-expression is a favoured theme, focusing on who you are without criticism. When I make a film, I first create still images, then progress to moving, to allow actions to evoke emotion. Recent projects have involved interviews that aim to reassure people about their everyday lives. It's exciting to create something beautiful from uncomfortable subject matter that is normally overlooked. My goal is to inspire audiences to open their understanding from a comfortable standpoint that is coherent and beautiful.
