Working as a Filmmaker, my passion is to create engaging work with themes of place and cultural memory, across factual and fiction formats.
I have delivered work for international exhibitions, and had films selected to screen at HOME, Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester Art Gallery, ICA London, Milwaukee Art Gallery, Holden Gallery, Contact Theatre, Manchester International Festival, as well as British Film Institute.

Freelance experience has included working for the BBC, Ideas Foundation, errornogo, What Larks TV, Telegraph Media Group, Missguided, Delaval Film, as well as working with organisations such as People's History Museum, Octagon Theatre and Ransack Theatre.

- Research focus on moving image works on urban spaces in transition, working with Manchester Council in Hulme
- Cultural Digital Designer in Residency with People’s History Museum and Abraham Moss High School

August 2019 - 2022 | Lecturer
Film & Screen Media, HE Creative Arts, University Centre Leeds

Responsible for curriculum development and devising module handbooks, delivering workshops, lectures and leading tutorials across all levels of the course, with also supporting student learning via Google Classroom e-learning platform. Co-ordinator for External Projects including, Phoenix Dance Company and British and Irish Modern Music Institute.

BA Filmmaking, Manchester School of Art

Delivering lectures and workshops and supported the following; Level 4 Film Art, Film Storytelling, Unit X, Level 5 Exploration, Narrative, Thematic and Level 6 Professional Employability. Working as workshop facilitator, lecturer and seminar tutor, each of these units required specific subject and contextual based knowledge. Planning and organising trips including Internation Film Festival Rotterdam and Aesthetica Film Festival. Managing the Online Cinema collection, and submissions to prestigous awards and competitions.

Critical & Contextual Studies, University of Salford

Teaching Level 5 Students on the subject of Global Visual Culture, Responding to Creative Contexts. Planning curriculum, delivering lectures, and designing interactive workshop sessions with Seminar Groups, through to assessment.

Selected Projects
2018 | Cultural Digital Designer in Residence with People's History Museum and Abraham Moss School, working in response to Represent! Voices 100 years On; as People’s History Museum marks the centenary of the Representation of the People Act. This was a funded residency working with young people in North Manchester, creating a series of short films about representation and community.

2018 | Co-Project Manager of the Scramble Bag project, with Manchester Art Gallery as part of the Thursday Lates and Lifelong Learning Programmes. This was a funded project delivering an arts engagement tool in response to Arte Utile approach to the Lates programme, I co-managed a team in design and marketing, as well as overseeing the budget.

2021 | Bankley Gallery, Manchester - Loose Articles, Kick Like a Girl, Music Video

2019 | Grosvenor Gallery, Manchester - Fifty Seven: work with North West Film Archive material tracing 57 lost pubs in-between Trinity Way and Adelphi Street in Salford, investigating the contemporary locations and linking to cultural nostalgia. Exhibited at the 

2018 | One Stevenson Square & Holden Gallery, Manchester - Drinking in a Pub: a moving image work focused on lost/removed spaces, re-enactments of drinking on the site of a demolished pub in Salford, linking to themes of cultural recall and personal histories as a performative act.

2017 | Z-Arts Centre, Manchester - Transition: documentary with residents of Britannia Basin Community Forum, exploring the area and their concerns about the immense construction work undertaken. Screened as part of the People and Place Exhibition.

2014 | BFI London - All That Is Solid, Melts Into Air: commission for BFI Radical Democracy Brief, screened at BFI Future Film Festival

2013 | Cornerhouse - He's Not English Mum - Winner Audience Award

2013 | Manchester International Festival - Saltos | Robin Hood of Wisdom, commissioned as part of the Hans Ulrich Obrist Do It Exhibition.

Practioner roles

2016 - Present: Associate Artist with Ransack Theatre, currently with Supported Artist status at Royal Exchange Theatre, working as Film Director, recently installing moving image work with performance for the Co:Lab Festival.

2021 - Present: Director and Filmmaker for Fashion Brand errornogo, developing moving image content and brand identity.

2021- Present: Performing as The Self, in the role of Visual Artist in collaboration with Sound Artist and Musician Connor Haynes
Performances include New Weird North West, Band and the Wall and New River Studios.
