After graduating from Manchester Polytechnic in Clothing Design and Production Management, I pursued a career in buying and, over the next twenty years, focussed on womenswear, and homeware. After several years I became a Buying Manager for over category worth over one hundred million pounds and managed a large team.

My specialisms are trend research, product design, product development., sourcing and negotiation. I have had extensive sourcing experience throughout the far east and nearer to the UK.

I have taught in three different universities across fashion buying, fashion marketing and management. My industry experience has enabled students to progress and develop, ready for a career in the fashion industry.

My research has invested the death of the high street and the rise of online stores.
