Katie Greenwood
Lecturer, Fashion Design
Since graduating with an MA in Fashion Design from Central Saint Martins UAL, Katie has worked in the fashion industry for over fifteen years as a designer and design director of womenswear, menswear and unisex collections for luxury, lifestyle and streetwear brands including Celine, Yves Saint Laurent, Calvin Klein Jeans and Aries.
Katie’s areas of specialist knowledge include luxury RTW, tailoring, denim and casual sportswear.
As a designer and educator, Katie’s practice emphasises the importance of in-depth research followed by hands-on three-dimensional approaches to garment development such as styling, draping and deconstruction. Her teaching promotes high-end industry standard practices in garment design and visual communication.

Katie has been teaching at Manchester Fashion Institute since 2022 and has Early Career Researcher status.
