IFFTI 2018 Design Competition – Fusion

24 January 2018

Four students from BA (Hons) Fashion Design and Technology who submitted entries for the competition have been selected as finalists.

The hosts of this year’s International Foundation of Fashion Technology Institutes (IFFTI) conference, Donghua University in Shanghai, are holding a design competition for students of member institutions.

The brief for this year’s competition was ‘Fusion’ and students were asked to consider references such as art and technology and the past and present. Thirty-five students from BA (Hons) Fashion Design and Technology submitted entries for the competition and four final year students have been selected as finalists for the competition, Niamh Carr, Chloe Tweddall, Amy Redford and Antonia Moizer.

The finalists will travel to Shanghai in April to present their design works for a final judging at a design exhibition, fashion show and awards ceremony at Donghua University.

Finalist Niamh Carr said “I’m so excited and surprised to be made a finalist. It’s an amazing opportunity and I’m very honoured to represent Manchester Fashion Institute.”
