Hopes high for Graduate Fashion Week awards

07 June 2016

Finishing touches for shows ready to wow tonight

WITH the finishing touches being put to their presentations, fashion students from the University will be hoping to impress at Graduate Fashion Week this evening, Tuesday, June 7.

Twenty students from Manchester School of Art and ten from Hollings will be showing their collections on the catwalk or on live models during two shows tonight.

Student portfolios will also be on display for industry visitors to the Manchester Metropolitan University and Manchester School of Art stands.

Graduate Fashion Week kicked off on Sunday at Old Truman Brewery, in East London.

The students will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of 2015 School of Art graduate Hannah Wallace, who won the top award, the £10,000 Gold Award, sponsored by George.

The awards announcements will take place tomorrow, following the “Best of Graduate Fashion Week” catwalk show.
