24 May 2016
COURSES in Hospitality, Events Management and Tourism at Manchester Met were highly rated in this year’s Guardian University Guide.
Within the section Hospitality, Events Management and Tourism the University not only remained within the top 10 nationally, but rose two places to number eight.
The Department of Apparel also performed well, with fashion has remaining at number 20.
The University as a whole has risen 17 places in the Guardian’s league table of UK universities, climbing from 77th place to 60th in the 2017 rankings.
The rise follows success earlier this year in the Complete University Guide rankings where the University recorded the largest rise of any UK university.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Malcolm Press said: “Higher education is a transformative opportunity for young people. At Manchester Metropolitan University, we are driven by ambition for our students. We offer them innovative and flexible degree programmes, including degree apprenticeships, that will enable their success in a fast-paced and ever-changing world. The Guardian University League Table places particular emphasis on the quality of the student experience, so rising so many places is a particularly gratifying endorsement of our approach.”
