HOLOGRAPHIC dresses, woolly wigs and bold prints were on show at the Department of Apparel’s annual fashion show this week.

Final year BA (Hons) Fashion Design and Technology students from the department, which is based in Hollings Faculty, had the opportunity to show off their work in the stunning surroundings of Hallé St Peters.

Jo Jenkinson, Principal Lecturer in Fashion in the Department of Apparel, said: “The show is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the wonderful and diverse talent of the Fashion Design and Technology students. This year’s show was particularly strong and we have had great feedback from our industry guests who were impressed with the quality and professionalism of the collections.”

The strength of Hollings’ industry ties was also demonstrated, as the show was attended by representatives from JD Williams, Missguided, Speedo and sportswear label Canterbury.

There are three options for studying BA (Hons) Fashion Design and Technology at Manchester Met – womenswear, menswear or sportswear.

The University will host a second fashion show, featuring work by BA (Hons) Fashion students from the Manchester School of Art, on Thursday, May 19.
