Jackie is Director of Innovation at Jackie Marshall-Cyrus & Associates Ltd, a boutique innovation consultancy providing ageing expertise to corporates, large organisations, SMEs and entrepreneurs in the design and delivery of inclusive innovative products, services and systems. Her philosophy is that growing older should not cost us what it means to be human.
Her early career as a professional Registered General Nurse specialised in the intermediate care and rehabilitation of older adults. On completing a Master’s degree in Education in 2006, she became a Senior Lecturer and Module Leader at the School of Society & Health at Buckinghamshire New University.
In May 2008 Jackie joined Innovate UK and worked as the Lead Specialist on the Independent Living Innovation Platform until September 2016. As the UK’s representative on the Ambient Assisted Living Joint Programme from 2007 to 2013, she worked collaboratively with EU partners to promote healthy and active ageing. She is a member of the Economic and Social Research Council’s Peer Review College and sat on the Steering Board of the New Dynamics of Ageing Programme. She was inducted as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in 2016.
