Yingqian Chen MA Fashion Design Technology
I am a storyteller.
Contextualising historical, cultural, and social issues to underpin research and development narrative.
Combining kinetic construction techniques, draping, 2D to 3D shape-making with research analysis allows me to develop my design practice. Creating abstract and overlapping structures around the body generates new silhouettes. Otherwise, I specialize in utilizing a variety of comprehensive materials to combine fashion design development, such as fabric manipulation and silhouette shape-making.
My design vision is to advance a more diverse clothing aesthetic.
My Negotaited Project focuses on the exploration of the human lifestyle as well as the dynamic observation of the human body in motion so that the body can return to a comfortable and conviviality state in wearing.
