SLW SKI.

I am a Menswear designer with a particular interest in outerwear. Completing a 12month placement at Portwest a global workwear company as a hi-Visability and rainwear product developer.

SLW.SKI is a men’s skiwear collection inspired from a recent skiing trip to Verbier, Switzerland. While skiing I collated product analysis, observing the different styles of skiwear and technical details used on the garments to improve their use. Linking the ergonomic structure of skis with bridge architecture, I developed silhouettes from these shapes which I transformed into functional designs.

Illustrating my process through designs and samples I was able to curate a new innovative skiwear range which has a modern streetwear look with functional features. Inspired by lots of big brands and designers on the slopes, I decided to create my own branding. Focusing on the outerwear features such as pockets, I designed gaskets gaskets which would heat-seal on top of the pockets. Creating these in a contrasting silver it makes the SLW. SKI logos stand out just like other brands do up in the mountains.

Throughout this project I have developed my skills on industry based softwares such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Gerber to create technical specifications, layplans, design boards and maticulate research.
