Sara Ward

Working with analogue cameras to enjoy the fragility and serendipitous effects that this format allows for, I am a Photographer and Art Director who seeks to convey the aloofness of youth. I use a range of film types, but I always find myself coming back to Fuji Film Superia due to its tactile, cool-toned, blue hues. That is a fluent theme throughout my imagery.

I often find myself infatuated with intimacy and the art of loneliness and so a world of melancholy is what my work aims to build. I constantly seek to evoke realism and create photography that encapsulates real people within an undone style. In order to capture and elevate my models' energy, I rarely touch my images as I feel manipulation nullifies the fragility of my practice.

Through my work I want to convey a range of different individuals and bodies, to celebrate inclusivity and representation. Often working with those closest to me to guarantee the absolute comfort and consensus of everyone involved with my work.
