I am a high end womenswear designer, and I enjoy working from the construction of a concept, drawing from an array of influences, including music, classic literature, art, politics, religion and world events. Print is a particular area of interest, as it is a very useful tool for storytelling and conveying concept. For me, part of the challenge of fashion is putting across nuanced, thought provoking meanings through garments in a subtle and sophisticated way, while avoiding on-the-nose costumes, though not rejecting theatricality.
