My final year collection, has been inspired by Dr Yellen, which illustrates fabrics having different frequencies which aid/hinder mood/wellbeing, depending on whether they are natural or synthetic. My goal is to help bring awareness to clothing and its role in healing our society. Natural fabrics such as wool and linen are seen as super-fabrics, not only are they healing but they are also 100% biodegradable, which I believe should be a must when designing and creating. Furthering, Yellen's findings I used an EMF detector to get calculate my own results for fabric frequencies. In my research, I found that pineapples have high frequencies, helping the decision to use pineapple leather in my collection. I have been inspired by lines of frequencies waves and organic shapes seen in nature and ancient symbols, such as the Caduceus.
