I am a womenswear fashion designer with a year of experience in industry for a supplier to many thriving highstreet brands. During this year I had the opportunity to develop my CAD skills, explore different fabric options for different commercial purposes and develop a better understanding of garment production.

In this project I wanted to explore the environmental impact fashion has on the ocean and the permanent damage society has on the planet. With the overwhelming contribution to microplastics in the ocean, this collection informs sustainably concious fabric options and indicates a shift that can be implimented in consumer behaviour regarding clothing. As a designer I take an interest in surface design which has been influenced by the ocean in the form of pleating and rib fabric textures. The collection gravitates around the role of the Jellyfish and the ability to survive through adverse circumstances whilst the rest of the ecosystem is rapidly depleting.
