My conceptual process has been heavily influenced by working alongside my dad on construction sites. The use of industrial materials and the constant development of buildings have always impacted my design approach. My intention within design is to produce garments that serve functionality and purpose to those in disadvantaged environments. My concept resonates with current political issues in today’s society. I use sculptural objects combined with the utility of sportswear to provide distinctive silhouette designs. Within my concept I have experimented and developed ways in which my garments become transformable. This idea was influenced by the overconsumption of temporary homes such as tents. Tents have many intricate functionality’s which I have dissected and found new purposes for which ergonomically aid humans.
