Winner of the British Fashion Council’s national Jigsaw Award
Fashion Design and Technology graduate Eppyar Hunt was awarded the winner of the national Jigsaw Award by the British Fashion Council.
The award was a special collaboration with silk specialist Pongees and the British Fashion Council and the winner was given the chance to design and create a piece of eveningwear for fashion brand Jigsaw’s A/W 2016 collection.
Eppyar designed a double-layer silk dress, which has been praised for its “exquisite balance of volume, detail and layering”. The ‘Eppyar Silk Dress’ launched at London Fashion Week and has featured in Jigsaw’s store windows and online as a limited-edition piece.
The quality of Eppyar’s dress design, as well as her technical understanding of the design and manufacturing process impressed the panel of high profile industry judges at Graduate Preview Day. The panel included Leith Clark, Editor in Chief at Violet Magazine and Style Director at Large at Harper’s Bazaar, Meribeth Parker, Co-President of the BFC Education Pillar, Nick Moore, Sales Director, Pongees, Shailina Parti, Buying and Merchandising Director, Jigsaw, and Will Steele, Managing Director, Pongees.
