Fashion and Textiles courses leapt 16 places from last year to take fourth spot in their national subject rankings

Fashion and art courses at Manchester Metropolitan University have been ranked among the best in the country by the 2018 Guardian University Guide.

The Guardian’s annual guide rates universities by quality of teaching, student satisfaction and employability. It also groups courses into designated subject areas and provides separate league tables for each.

The results were particularly impressive for Fashion and Textiles courses, which leapt 16 places from last year to take fourth spot in their national subject rankings. This category included eight Manchester Metropolitan courses, ranging from BA (Hons) in Fashion and BA (Hons) Textiles in Practice at Manchester School of Art, to a number of courses at Manchester Fashion Institute, including BA (Hons) Fashion Futures, BA (Hons) Fashion Buying and Merchandising, and a range of BA courses in Fashion Design and Technology.

Design and Crafts courses, based at the Manchester School of Art, also retained their spot in the top 10 from last year, while Manchester Metropolitan’s Art subjects climbed to 17th, an improvement of 13 places.
